Obituary
Socorro Medina, 76, beloved mother, grandmother, and wife, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on April 1, 2022. She entered this world on May 4, 1945 in Durango, Mexico, born to Jose Quinones and Teresa Aranda. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and bird Pepe. Socorro will be remembered as a warm and loving woman who could make anyone laugh. She was sure to welcome everyone who came into her home with her wonderful cooking, especially her famous frijoles. She was an amazing storyteller, teacher, cook, and friend. Our world is not the same without her, but all who had the privilege of knowing her will always carry her in their heart.
Socorro is preceded in death by her parents, Teresa and Jose and sisters, Maria Quinones and Elena Quinones. She is survived by her husband, Juvencio Medina-Moreno; daughters, Lupe Medina, Yolanda [Jose] Montoya, Angelica Medina, Consuelo Medina, and Elizabeth [Eliezer Olivas] Medina; sons, Roberto [Nancy] Medina and Guillermo Medina; grandsons, Jacob and Eli Olivas, Joseph Montoya, Julian Sanchez, Roberto Terrazas, Andres, Angel, Daniel, and Juan Carlos Medina; granddaughters, Yvette [Julian] Montoya, Veronica Tafoya, Victoria [Kendra] Trujillo, Arianna Medina, and Jasmine Medina; brothers and sisters, Refugio "Cuco" Quinones, Manuel Quinones, Carlota Quinones, and Luz Quinones.
Services are as follows: Visitation followed by the Rosary will begin Thursday, April 21, 2022, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 22, 2022, 12:00 noon at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11509 Indian School Road NE.
Burial will follow the Mass at Sunset Memorial Park. All are invited to a Reception at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
