Obituary

Cecilia Marie Aguilar, age 63, born June 12, 1958, passed gently into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

Cecilia shared her light of Christ with everyone she knew through her example of unconditional love, and unwavering faith. She loved spending quality time with her family and friends around the table, enjoying a home cooked meal. She loved attending mass every Sunday, at her home parish of St. Edwin Catholic Churc, and praying the rosary daily. She has always been an active member of her parish community, and was extremely proud of her grandchildren, for their involvement as altar servers and lector. She enjoyed her trips to the casino and grabbing a bite to eat at her favorite restaurants. She took every opportunity she had; to provide, teach, but above all love. She emphasized the importance of forgiveness, and always had a gentle heart when approaching life's most difficult problems.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Aguilar; sons, Johnny Ray Aguilar and Christopher Aguilar; daughter, Lisa R. Belmares; daughters-in-law, Brenda Cano-Aguilar and Jessica Aguilar; grandchildren, Ariana Aguilar, Gabriella Aguilar, Jeramiah Cano-Aguilar, Joshlynn Aguilar, Johanna Aguilar, Silviano Aguilar, Christopher Jr. Aguilar, Elena Aguilar, Sophia Aguilar, Rosario Belmares, and Leona Belmares; her sisters, brothers and sisters through marriage, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. She loved her family and friends deeply.

Rosary will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m., at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd SW in Albuquerque. Procession to the final resting place of Sunset Memorial Park cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE in Albuquerque will follow mass. Lunch will be served in the parish hall at St. Edwin after the procession.
