Mary recently celebrated 64 years of marriage. She was strong in her Christian faith and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe. She often visited the Santuario de Chimayo to worship and pray. Mary was a parishioner of over 60 years at the Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Albuquerque, where all of her children were baptized, obtained their first holy communion and confirmation. She was a loving wife and mother that loved her family dearly. Mary dedicated her life to raising, teaching and loving her children and grandchildren. She reentered the work force in the late 1970s and worked at Scotch cleaners for many years. She then went on to work for Walmart as a greater, where she retired in the late 1990s.
Mary had a spirit for life and when she was young she enjoyed music and dancing. She had an eye for fashion and enjoyed dressing in the latest styles. She also was an expert seamstress and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting. In her later years as many do, she really enjoyed spending her free time at the local casinos. Mary never learned to drive as a young woman. But she was determined to learn in her early 70s and enrolled in driving school and obtained her drivers license and purchased her own vehicle. She was very proud of this major achievement and drove for many years.
