Obituary

Erlinda (Earlie) Lucille Chavez Rael (b. 1938) passed away at home, surrounded by her family on Monday, November 22, 2021.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Pablo Rael; children: Paul, Leslie (Michael), Jennifer, and Joseph (Jodie); brother Richard Chavez (Christina); grandchildren: Marisa, Andrew, Matthew, Esperanza, Noah, Marina, Josiah, Isaiah, Olivia, Catori, Joshua, Kayla, Gabriella; great-grandchildren: Marlee, Rylee, as well as her adopted children and grandchildren: Regan Foster-Chavez, Zac Foster, Nick Chavez, and Nic Meyer.

Earlie had a long and loving life. She loved cooking for her family and friends, playing poker, dancing with Pablo and spending time with her many grandchildren.

While she was taken from her family too soon due to Alzheimer’s, she will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. 

Erlinda's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 6:00pm at the Shrine of the Little Flower St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church located at 3424 Fourth St. NW, 87107. Mass will take place on Thursday, December 2, 2021 also at the Shrine of the Little Flower St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church. Erlinda will be laid to rest following the Mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102.

The family has asked that any contributions be donations made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, so that a cure may one day be found.
