Obituary

Danny William Vigil, age 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 31st, 2021, alongside his family and friends. Danny was born January 17th, 1963, in Santa Fe, New Mexico to his parents, Dolores and William Vigil. He was a proud Navy Veteran, caring Football Coach, loving father, hardworking son, and amazing brother. He was one of the top realtors in Albuquerque and was proudly serving as the Realtor state associations President for 2021. He was also the past president of GAAR in 2018 (Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS).

Danny is survived by his mother, Dolores Vigil; father, William "Willie" Vigil; son, Ryan Vigil; and his mother, Renee Vigil; sister, Nancy Vigil-Rico and her wife, Brenda Rico and their children, Santos, Neveah, Cruz, Poseidon and Time; his brother, Larry Vigil and his wife, Camille Vigil and their children, Erica, Kyle, and Mia; his girlfriend, Carrie Montoya, her daughter, Brianna, and their family.

He was a hardworking and generous individual, who would be quick with a joke or something to break the ice; making anyone who met him feel at ease. He has made a lasting impact on many people's lives stretching from his time as a football and soccer coach to his career as a realtor. As a coach, he taught his players much more than football and soccer skills but was also committed to teaching them the value of hard work and discipline. In his career, he was a mentor to many and encouraged his colleagues with his positivity and friendship. Above all else, Danny had a big heart and was a big family man willing to do anything for those he loved. Never one to leave something halfway done, once he started something he would give it his all; from becoming the President of YAFL in the 90s to serving as President of the State Realtor Association most recently.

Danny was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins since childhood. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting in the beautiful mountains of New Mexico.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Sagebrush Church - Riverside, 6440 Coors Blvd. NW in Albuquerque.
