Thomas E. Hanson
July 23, 1955 - August 19, 2021
Tom E. Hanson passed away in his home and went to heaven on August 19, 2021, at the age of 66.
He was born on July 23, 1955 in Rochester, New York to Einar and Virginia Hanson. He was their only child.
He grew up in New York with his parents and his grandmother, Ella Brown.
He resided in many places throughout the years; North Dakota, Florida, North Carolina and New Mexico.
In some of these locations he had relationships that did not last and fathered six biological children, and some grandchildren.
He was currently married to Sherry Hanson. In the last thirteen years, he truly loved her & her four children, who he called family.
He was a man of many trades. At a young age his dad taught him his trade as an electrician. Later he became a certified mechanic and was very knowledgeable about cars. As he matured, he became a licensed plumber in New York City and worked as one for many years. Later in his life he worked in retail, selling plumbing and electrical supplies; where everyone appreciated his well-known knowledge of both, plumbing & electrical.
He enjoyed his hobby of working & repairing antique pocket-watches. He was so proud of that. He loved tinkering and working on his car. He enjoyed shopping at consignment and thrift stores. He loved traveling to small towns. He was an old soul and loved anything vintage.
He loved animals, especially dogs. His dogs were like children to him.
He adored children and was a natural with them. He so loved playing with his grandchildren and they adored him.
He was a Christian man believing in God and prayed to him daily. He believed in miracles, because he witnessed a few. He always had faith.
Tom was a good man, an amazing husband, a great dad and a loyal friend. He will be remembered as being kind, warm hearted, confident, wise, with a sense of humor. He gave the best hugs. He was adored and loved by many. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Hanson
Four step-children, Desiree Casteel, AJ Mai, Preston Mai and Danielle Mai
Six step-grandchildren, Jenni, Elizabeth, Amber, Eliza, Dominic and Ariyah
He is preceded in death by his parents, Einar Hanson and Virginia Hanson
Grandmother, Ella Brown
Step-grandson, Logan Mai
