Obituary

Vangie Flores Duran died June 2, 2021.

She is survived by her son, Dion Duran.  She was born May 3, 1966 in Española, NM and raised in Chimayo, NM. She and her two other sisters were very close always together through thick and thin. She was a very happy person. She loved all her family so very much. She had one son that she loved and cared for. Something that she would always say was “ viva la vida loca”, “ Yerba mala nunca muere” and “ tengo 7 vidas como un gato”. All her family will always remember her saying those words. Everyone that knew her would know that she was a very happy, loud and caring person. She loved listening to music, singing, dancing, but always with her half pint in her hand saying “salud” with a very joyful face. She has left her family here in this world with full of memories and she has reunited with her mother “ lulu “. Now she’s up in heaven with her mother, father and grandmother watching over us very happy and guiding us in life.

Vangie's Life Celebration will begin on Monday, June 21 at Salazar Mortuary from 5-7pm followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Final Viewing will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.  Burial will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery.
